Massimo Bacigalupo recalls the events that took place in the years leading up to the war, which simultaneously became the subject of his father's filming. Thinking back to the images filmed by his father in Sant'Andrea di Foggia (where he and his mother had taken refuge during the bombing of Rapallo) Massimo Bacigalupo also reflects on the apparently serene climate that can be inferred from the footage: the lives of the protagonists in fact went on despite the events of the war.
