"Il giovane rottame" is a 1972 film based on a repertoire of family photographs of the artist. From these photographs arose a narrative related to a young man who undergoes rapid physical decline and aging: the man loses an arm, loses a leg, can no longer speak... the protagonist is thus a young old man referred to as "the young wreck."
