Between September and December 1934, a whole series of communications occurred establishing that no other independent association dedicated to cinema could exist except within the pre-existing structures of the so-called fascist university groups. The GUF, born at the beginning of the regime's history and scattered all over the country, became the only centre of cultural activity related to cinema in Italy.
