Video began to be competitive both from a practical and economic point of view at the turn of 1983, and in 1984 in Italy, when the Beta Movie video camera was marketed, representing the first case of a compact video camera, i.e. a video camera that gathers together the shooting functions, i.e. optics and video recording functions.
