In 1978 "Arte e Cinema" arrived at the Biennale and from here it was able to expand internationally through a series of exhibitions that saw Italian artists move between England, France and the United States . After almost twenty years of activity, Italian artists' cinema saw its end at the conclusion of the exhibition 'Camere incantate' in 1981. Lasting many months, between 1980 and 1981, "Camere incantate" hosted a whole series of artists who promoted their cinema through innovative re-enactments of films and extremely avant-garde exhibition design experiments for the time. 'Camere incantate' represents one of the most significant Italian examples of the installation and exhibition implementation of the art-cinema binomial in the artistic experimentalism of the time.
