The Baldassini family on Lake Como on 24 June 1929, amidst moments of relaxation and excursions around Bellano. Little Luciano on the swing is the first scene in Guglielmo's "cinema of attractions". A few shots later is the well-known - and eye-catching - Orrido di Bellano. The noun 'orrido' (gorge), according to the dictionary, is a precipitous place, mostly where a torrent is forced through a ravine over resistant rocks, between which the waters fall with a roar, and whose bottom cannot be seen. The poet Sigismondo Boldoni (1597-1630) was fascinated by this 'horrendous horror', the fascination of which cannot escape Baldassini's camera, which films the small group of hikers in admiration. Let us remember that Guglielmo is a painter, a wizard of image composition. And Luciano seems the most excited of all, it is the amazement of a child watching such a spectacle for the first time. The final two shots are devoted to our tourists descending the steps next to the cemetery and to a magnificent view of the lake filmed from a moving vehicle (the car we saw earlier or the train). A shot that closes the film and an unforgettable day.
