This film is a tribute by Pippo Barzizza to his wife, Tatina Salesi, and to the musician's love for her. The two met in Sanremo in January 1928, Pippo is there to play at the gala evening for the inauguration of the Casino. In February of the following year they marry, on 22 November 1929 their first-born daughter Luisita (Isa) is born and on 4 December 1935 their second-born son Renzo, as we will see in the coming weeks. By the time this 9.5 mm film was pressed, 12 November 1937, the Barzizzas had been living in Turin for about a year, where Pippo had reached the pinnacle of his career by taking over as director of the Cetra Orchestra at the EIAR. Who knows if anyone recognises him on the streets of Rome, but for Pippo the star is Tatina, and he poses her in almost every shot, reviewing the beauty of the city, including the vestiges of the Roman Empire, the palaces and monuments of Renaissance and Baroque Rome, and glimpses of the post-Unitarian buildings. He cannot miss a pose in front of Palazzo Venezia, in the hope that he will look out from the balcony. What matters most to Pippo, however, is the close-up of Tatina, in the face of statuesque faces old and new
