Andrea Granchi recalls the growing interest on the part of the City of Florence in artist cinema, which, in 1978, led him to receive the official charge to create the "Giornate Internazionali del Cinema d'Artista": a revolutionary event for Florence at the time and an important opportunity of cooperation with various institutions, from the Berlin Cinémathèque to the Cinémathèque Française in Paris.
