"Ritorno" is a 1944 film made by Paolo Chierici and set in the countryside of Crocefieschi. Based on the story of the same name by William Saroyan, the film tells of the return of a young man to his native village. Initially happy to be reunited with friends and family, he soon realises that while his life in the city has been full of constant changes, in the village everything has remained the same as in the past. Sad and disappointed, he decides to retrace his steps and leave the village once again.
