Shot between New York and Rapallo in 1972-73 and awarded a prize at the Anthology Film Archives in 1973, Warming up (as the title suggests) is an exercise in keeping fit and perhaps preparing for more challenging ventures. Shot in 16mm colour, the 'American film' is quite joyful, based on the dynamics of music, movement, and dance. "Warming up" is an exercise in preparation that the author, in 1976, described as follows: "conceived as a homage to Rimbaud on the centenary of Derniers vers, it can also be read as a sequence of 'illuminations' that fit into each other. In the sound is also a complexity of recurring and intersecting verbal-musical themes. There is no lack of winking, irony, nor hopefully - amusement'.
