In 2007 Impressioni a distanza was reworked by Luca Ferro. The three 8mm domestic film blocks, shot twenty years apart, are now digitally united in a single picture and speak, now individually - now simultaneously (in split screen) of the evolution of the private cinematographic eye, of amateur media and techniques. The eternal flow of generations, the arrogance of memory and the fatal pitfalls of nostalgia. The three realizations are enriched with the text of the letter with which in 1935, the father of Luca Ferro, a young officer in Ethiopia, established the first contact with his mother.
