The amateur film carries within itself a situated gaze that is a reflection of a historical and social context. The film becomes a historical source capable of connecting the private to the collective and thus cultural dimension. The film is able to become an expression of a participatory dimension of the historical event, which is often recorded in an occasional way by an amateur filmmaker, but which is somehow able to connect a private dimension to the collective and thus cultural one.
