The Cineguf activity was supported by the fascist regime through a logic of subsidies regulated by periodic rankings and established on the basis of the groups' participation in the various amateur film or film criticism competitions. National and international competitions became the main system for grabbing the central funds that the National Fascist Party had allocated for Cineguf.
