From Dimensione Super8 onwards, events on experimental cinema began to flourish throughout the country, even in the smallest centres. Some of the greatest promoters of experimental cinema of the period, including Vittorio Fagone and Andrea Granchi, began to establish themselves in the organisation of events that became more established than others. In this way, a whole circle of scholars and artists began to be created who, by promoting a whole series of festivals, succeeded in bringing experimental cinema to the 1978 Venice Biennale.
