Shot in 8mm, 'Quasi una tangente' is considered the first Italian independent film, an underground answer to 'Prima della rivoluzione' and 'I pugni in tasca'. Shot by Massimo Bacigalupo in the spring of 1966 while he was preparing his high school graduation exam, 'Quasi una tangente' was an authentic revelation. Winner of the first prize at the Montecatini Festival, the movie follows the last day of Paul's life, seen through his gaze. The extract presented here belongs to the first part of the film: the sound of a space launch and Bobby McGuire's music follow Paul's gaze and his journey before his meeting with Mara.
