Giulia Simi introduces the figure of Patrizia Vicinelli and her relationship with the cinematic medium. Admitting the complexity that one inevitably encounters when trying to sum up Vicinelli's role in the artistic and experimental scene of the Italian Sixties and Seventies, Simi illustrates the way in which this figure, so complex and at the same time elusive to any kind of definition, became the subject of artistic practices, writings and cinematic experiences. A complex woman who poses not only behind, but also in front of the movie camera: a hieratic body that becomes the subject of the gaze that is repeatedly sought out and investigated by many filmmakers of the Italian experimental scene.
